Your company has rolled out CTD — a relationship intelligence platform that maps who your organization knows, so anyone on the team can find a warm path to any person or company instead of going in cold. This guide walks you through your first session: signing in, setting up your network, and the fastest ways to get value.
Step 1 — Sign in
Your account is already set up. There's nothing to install and nothing to configure:
- Go to app.ctd.ai
- Sign in with your work email
Behind the scenes, CTD has already analyzed your work email history and built your relationship graph — the first time you log in, your connections are already there, organized and scored by how well you actually know each person.
Seeing an "Upgrade" prompt? You're not in your workspace yet
If you sign in and see an upgrade call-to-action in the sidebar, it means you're on the free plan — your admin hasn't added your account to your company's workspace yet. This is easy to fix:
- Request access through CTD — CTD will show you a window listing your workspace admins with a call-to-action to reach out. One click sends them a request to add you.
- Or contact your admin directly — ping them on Slack or email and ask them to add your account to your company's Connect The Dots workspace.
Once you're added, you'll automatically get access to the full company network and everything described below.
Step 2 — Make your network complete (optional, recommended)
During onboarding, CTD will offer to add more of your network on top of your work email. Both options are voluntary and controlled entirely by you:
- Sync a personal email account — connect a personal Gmail or Outlook account to bring in relationships that never touched your work inbox: old colleagues, friends, people from previous jobs.
- Upload your LinkedIn connections — a two-minute CSV export from LinkedIn adds connections that don't appear in email at all. You can also import your LinkedIn messages so CTD scores those relationships accurately, not just as loose contacts.
The more complete your network, the more warm paths you and your teammates can find — and the higher your network score.
What you now have access to
CTD gives you two networks in one place:
- The company network — the combined relationships of everyone at your company, plus external members your admin has added to the workspace (advisors, investors, partners). Search for any person or company and see who on the team knows them, and how well.
- Your own network — all of your connections, organized and scored in one place, across work email, personal email, and LinkedIn.
What to use CTD for
Find a warm path to anyone
The core move: search for a person or company and see who can introduce you, ranked by relationship strength. Before any cold outreach, check whether a teammate already has the relationship. Then follow the best practices for asking for an introduction so your connector actually acts on it.
Draft ghost emails for your teammates
When a colleague has the relationship you need, don't just ask them to "make an intro" — draft a ghost email: a ready-to-send message written in their voice that they only need to approve and forward. It removes all the work from your connector's plate, which is why ghost emails get dramatically more intros made. See how to create one and the templates that get replies, or read why ghost emails work on the blog.
Sales: upload your target accounts
Upload your target account list to CTD Lists and instantly see your team's best warm paths into every account, ranked by connection strength. Instead of working accounts top-down, start with the ones where someone at your company already knows the buyer.
Hiring: track candidates and sources
The same works for people: upload a list of candidates or prospects and see who at your company knows each one — for backchannel references, warm outreach, or sourcing referrals from the people your colleagues actually know.
Events: know who you'll meet
Going to a conference or hosting an event? Upload the attendee list and see who your team already knows and how well — so you walk in with a meeting plan instead of a badge scanner. This is one of the most popular list use cases among CTD customers.
Job changes: catch the moment
CTD tracks when people in your network change jobs — a champion landing at a target account, or a great candidate becoming available. You'll know while the timing is still warm.
Your first week: a quick checklist
- Sign in at app.ctd.ai with your work email
- Sync your personal email and upload your LinkedIn connections and messages
- Search 3–5 companies or people you're currently trying to reach and check the warm paths
- Upload one list — target accounts, candidates, or event attendees
- Send your first ghost email request
- Check who in your own network is on CTD — they can extend your reach even further
