Send access allows CTD to send emails from a user’s account, but only when that user decides to send. It is what powers ghost email workflows end to end, and we highly recommend enabling it.
What it unlocks
Our Ghost Emails feature: you or your teammates can prepare a draft for someone else, the sender reviews it, edits it if they like, and sends it in one click without leaving CTD. Messages are prepared collaboratively and approved before sending. Ghost emails are one of the most widely used features across our user base, which is why this permission is marked “highly recommended” during setup.
CTD never sends anything on its own
This is the part we want to be unambiguous about: CTD never sends an email automatically, and never without an explicit action from the user. Whether the send happens in the app, through the API, or through MCP, it is always the user who triggers it. The sender remains fully in control: they review the message and send it themselves. Send access grants the technical ability; every actual send is a deliberate human action.
Without send access
Some key functionality will not be available: ghost emails can still be drafted and shared, but senders have to copy them into their own email client to send, which adds friction to every introduction.
